The most common spring angles for crown mouldings are 45/45 and 52/38.
52° from the ceiling 38° from the wall.

This is a  NEW  protractor by Starret for crown.  It incudes tables! (Review coming soon)

When marking out your studs use 1 1/2 painters tape instead of pencil marks.
